Down and out
So we are out of the UEFA CUP now. How come I am not bloody surprised?! For feck's sake!! And the bastard manager of ours could even have the CHEEK to blame SOMEONE ELSE for our failure!!

'I thought it was a very harsh decision and the wrong decision because it was way outside the box,' said Houllier on five.

'If he [Biscan] did something wrong, it was outside.

'I don't think it would have been a penalty if it had happened the other way.

'The referee gave them a bit of help today.'

In the infamous words of Simon Cowell of the American Idol fame (Yes, i do sometimes watch American Idol on channel 70!! Although i missed last night's show)

'Now that's the surprise of the century!!'

Of COURSE, Gerard, it was the referree's fault! I mean, although he wasn't the person who actually picked that footballer-wannabe donkey that some people call Biscan, and he wasn't the person who can't even get a team full of full international players with a former European player of the year, the best (arguably) central midfielder in England, with a defence two years ago which could leak goals even if they WANTED to, to play decent, passing attacking football. I mean, OF COURSE it's the referee's fault! No way is it your fault right Houllier? Right? Right?

Man, I am just too depressed to actually even to continue writing now. Later.

Elections - (Backdated)

It seems that every blog that i visit nowadays, there just HAS to be some talk about the elections that just happened. I guess it is, definitely, a hot topic for conversation nowadays. Sunday night, i was complaining that the TV channels were non-stop showing the election results as they come out, and I just couldn't imagine how some Malaysian people can just spend / waste their time in front of the television waiting for result after result being announced. The moment I reached home, what do i find in front of the televsion? Two elderly Malaysian people (my parents) in front of the TV anxiously awaiting the results one by one as they were coming out, mum on the floor with one of those scorecards in one of the newspapers keeping track of the DUN results, and my dad sitting on the chair, with another scorecard, keeping track of the Parliment results. Before i knew it, it was 3 in the morning, my parents were asleep a few hours already, and i was there, on the floor, in front of the television, keeping track of the results on the score cards, when Pak Lah was cutting the cake, after securing the 2/3 majority and the crowd was chanting "CUTI!CUTI!CUTI!". Sadly, the next day, it wasn't a holiday.

Excellent...

Can finally access my blog. Have been trying to access it these past few days and its been problematic. Dont know whether it was just blogger and blogspot and weblogimages that was giving the problem, but couldnt access any of them. Will add in some entries i put into my journal here...

Things I wanna do this weekend

1) Vote. Yes, i do want to vote this weekend. Probably wake up Sunday morning, after my Sunday morning dose of teh tarik and roti canai, probably just drop by the friendly neighbourhood polling center and cast my vote. Just received the manifestos of both the parliamentary candidates yesterday (and it is about time!!) and had a read through. I must say, the for the parliament seat for my area, although the BN fella has been here for a few years already, the opposition candidate from Keadilan looks MUCH more promising if you ask me. *Sigh* if only i went to hear their speeches and all.

2) Sleep. Yeah, i really REALLY REALLY want to just sleep, and then wake up late and bum around the house in the morning to only get up at noon. Sadly, i have just remembered that i have to WORK tomorrow morning, so i guess that's not happening tomorrow. Maybe can be breakfast late on Sunday.

3) Play football. Haven't exercised in a week. I am really looking forward to playing football tomorrow and just running around the futsal courts like a headless chicken. Just need to sweat it out since i have been feeling absolutely lethargic lately. Sad to say as well, me playing football hinges on how fast i can finish off my work on Saturday morning.

4) Need to fill in my income tax form. I THINK it is due soon, if not overdue. The thing is, I just received my EA forms and what nots from my company a few days ago. So it's not TOTALLY my fault if the form is late. Yes, not TOTALLY.

5) I want to watch F1. But this year, my normal kaki-s who go to F1 aren't going. And since i can't find anyone else who is willing to sit by the hillside under the screaching hot sun with me, i think this year i shall watch the race in the comfort of my own home, one the sofa, with the airconditioning turned on, sipping some freezing iced-cold coca-cola light lemon and muching on some junk food, thinking of those people baking in the hot sun.

6) Are they showing the Liverpool match this weekend? We are playing Wolves at Anfield. Another easy 3 points in the bag? Yeah right! Wolves will come to Anfield looking for a win and the y will definitely be a difficult team to beat. However, i hope they can offer some dodgy defending for us to take advantage of, like what Pompey did. Makes life easier for us. Ha ha ha

Now... if only i can think of something to do tonight... hmm..

Have we turned the corner... AGAIN!!??
Yeap, we won last night alright. 3 - 0 against the all mighty all conquering Portsmouth. Two goals from Owen mind you. Now all i can hear from a LOT of the people is that THIS is the turning point of the season. Come ON man, we have turned the corner so many times, we are probably back at where we started in the first place. We are now in pole position for fourth place?!! After winning against one of the weakest teams in the premiership?! Please!

I actually turned on my alarm to sound at around 4am this morning to watch the game on ESPN. However, come 4am, alarm clock blazing, I just couldnt be arsed to come out of the comfort of my bed and drag myself to watch another 90 minutes of dross. Back to sleep then.

Should I or shouldn't I?

Am currently wondering whether i should or just should not be bothered to vote this Sunday. The thing is I actually wanted to go and hear some of the talks that are / were to be done by the respective party reps, especially the Keadilan fella who is running for the parliamentary position for my area. However, been rather too darn busy lately, what with going back at 10pm on average and all, and also if i did in fact go home early, I wouldnt know where on earth they actually have any of these talks. I mean, you want me to vote fro you, at least tell me lah where you are having the "ceramahs" or whatever. All i have received from any of them are just a piece of paper from BN with my name and IC and the place where i should be voting. Come to think of it, where on EARTH do BN actually GET my details from?!!

From My Inbox : The MP (Member of Parliament)

While walking down the street one day, a female MP is tragically hit by a truck and dies. Her soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to Heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the lady.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in Hell and one in Heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.

"Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in Heaven," says the MP.

"I'm sorry but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts her to the elevator and she goes down to Hell.

The doors open, and she finds herself in the middle of a green golf course.

In the distance is a club and standing in front of it are all her friends and other politicians who had worked with her.

Everyone is very happy. They run to greet her, hug her, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster and caviar.

Also present is the Devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before she realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives her a big hug and waves while the elevator rises.

The elevator goes up, up, up, and the door reopens on Heaven where St. Peter is waiting for her.

"Now it's time to visit Heaven." So 24 hours pass with the head of state joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time, and before she realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well then, you've spent a day in Hell and another in Heaven. Now, choose the place where you want to spend eternity."

She reflects for a minute and then answers: "Well, I would never have said it, I mean Heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in Hell."

So Saint Peter escorts her to the elevator, and she goes down, down, down to Hell.

Now, the doors of the elevator open, and she is in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. She sees all her friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags.

The Devil comes over to her and lays his arm on her neck.

"I don't understand," stammers the MP. "Yesterday I was here, and there was a golf course and club, and we ate lobster and caviar and we danced and had a great time. Now there is a wasteland full of garbage, and my friends look miserable."

The Devil looks at her, smiles and says,

"Yesterday we were campaigning.Today, you voted for us!"

Another good chapati place

My love for Indian food has brought me to another place where I can say serves decent chapati. Some friends brought me to the Nasi Kandar Penang joint in Taman Tun, the one opposite the Maxis / Pizza Hut / IBM area. Actually I wasn't really looking to grab anything to eat actually but was more looking to get some teh tarik while we chatted into the wee hours of the morning.

However, me being the Indian food hantu that i am, just couldn't resist trying out the chapati they served there, since after a few teh tariks and an hour or two of talking cock with my buddies my lil tummy just started to cry out for something to fill it. Anyway, the chapati that came, on itself was OK-ish, pretty decent. Tasted like what your normal chapati would taste like, but the way they cooked / made it was in such a way that it wasn't really too thick and hence wasn't really that chewy (chewy and tough, the definition of bad chapatis... well for me at least...). I don't really know whether they purposely made it thin to make it taste good, or was it just another one of those cost cutting schemes. Whatever it was, it worked and it was good.

The side dishes that came with it on the other hand, was truly magnificent. Well, actually not all really, since the dhal wasn't really that outstanding, but the potato-ish thing that came with it is truly magnificent. I mean, the main issue that i had with the ones they serve in Citibank food court ( my normal lunch time fav chapati joint ), is that the potatoes are a bit large and hard, and when you eat them, since they are huge, the centers of the potatoes tastes quite bland. The ones in Nasi Kandar Penang however, were cut into small small pieces and were all mixed up together and mushy. At first when i looked at it, it gave me the impression that someone had chewed it for me first and through up on my plate. However, once you get a taste of it, mmm mmm... nice and soft and just complements the chapati to perfection with its mild amount of spices. No problem of any bland tasting potato centers since the small pieces ensure that the taste actually blends in properly into the potato, leaving no or a minimum amount of "tasteless area" in the potato. I actually ordered another chapati after that since i just couldn't get enough of the potatoes. Either that, or their tactic of giving smaller quantities of the food actually worked!!

Sorry, can't help it. Am pretty depressed with the result last night. Let me have some fun pissing off ManYoo supporters lah! Ha ha ha
Is he back?
Six goals in ten games, one nicely taken goal against the Scum last night, and looking pretty sharp and fit. Is Robbie "God" Fowler back to his best? I wish him all the best and hope that he continues to score more goals for fun like he did during his peak years at Anfield. 25 yard left footed screamers from the edge of the box, overhead kicks, first time volleys in the box into the roof of the net, connecting crosses with his head and powering the ball past the keeper, and also just nicking the ball past Phil Neville and then toeing the ball past the despairing dive of Tim Howard to kick off the spanking of Manchester United by their City rivals in the Manchester Derby. Fowler is all about goals goals and goals. All i want to see is that he regains his form and fulfils his potential as the "Most Natural Goal Scorer in Britain"
Bis-Cannot

Am in desperate need of some coffee now, since i have been robbed of my sleep by the freak of nature people refer to as Igor Biscan, who also it seems, plays "football" for my team Liverpool. Yes, we lost to Southampton last night and I put the blame totally on Biscan [-10/10]. Actually during the first half, he actually did almost convince me that he was a pretty decent defender (*gasp*), especially with that last minute, last ditch diving header right in front of the goal to deny Beattie a simple chance of heading the ball home. However, in the second half, his two mistakes which led to two goals just served as a reminder to me and all other Liverpool supporters why he is almost the definition of inept defending, almost since that accolade belongs to Djimi Traore.

Actually it was a pretty decent game. We created some good chances, and *most* of our players out there had a pretty decent game. Gerrard [7.5/10] was probably (again) our best player out there, and he and Hammann [7/10] had pretty much dominated the center of the pitch. Baros [6.5/10] looked pretty bright as well and had some neat touches and passes, although he didnt have any chances on goal. Kewell [7/10] also seems to be re-finding some sort of form and *if* only his 4th minute effort went in, I am sure we would have ended up winning the match, but as they say, that's football for you. Hyppia [6.5/10] also had a decent game in defence as with Carragher [6.5/10]

Now we go to the players that have dissappointed me last night. Other than Biscan [-100/10], Henchoz [5.5/10] had a night to forget. I just do not understand what on EARTH goes through the mind of our Houllier. I mean, Finnan is out, and Henchoz is pretty much doubtful, so what do you do? Give Riise [6.5/10 for the few minutes he was on... he looked pretty OK and wasn't really just hoofing the ball up was he?] a chance at left back and push Carragher at right back? Absolutely not. In the laws of Gerrard Houllier, you should put a center back who is slightly injured out onto the right back spot so that he is INDEED out of position, and then put a DONKEY at central defense. I mean, if he was indeed injured, I can't blame Houllier for putting Biscan in, since that would mean Traore would stay on the bench (which in any case is brilliant), but to keep Henchoz ON when you have a natural left back sitting there on your bench?! Use your brains goddammit!

I also just probably have lost any hope in Diouf [4/10] actually coming good anymore. He just brings absolutely nothing now to the team. All i see him doing is basically have a run on the wing, try and look fast and tricky with dodgy step-overs and what nots that dont come off, and then win the team a throw in or a corner. Right.. that's it! Run to the corner flag my boy and get us a throw in. That's ALL!?? I mean, I can't believe i am actually saying this, but when Heskey [6/10] came on for him, Heskey actually looked pretty useful (*gasp*) playing on the right hand side compared to Diouf. What is happening to this world?!!

Also, i do NOT want to see Owen [6/10] putting the ball on the penalty spot EVER AGAIN! He doesn't look comfortable taking them, he doesn't look confident. I think Owen has lost a LOT of his confidence this season and also his mind seems to be somewhere else probably thinking about his contract situation, since his mind was definitely NOT on the pitch. Seriously, I just cannot see anyone making a "bid we cannot refuse" anymore for Owen in the summer if he keeps on going like this. On the plus side, at least he had a few chances, but sad to say,he didnt manage to take any of them. I think Owen needs some time on the bench. As they say, no one is bigger than the club, and if Owen looks to be not performing, then bench him I say, and let someone else try up front. Heskey (*gasp*) maybe, or Diouf (*gasp*), or maybe LeTallec or Ponggolle when they come back from injury. Either that, or put Kewell up front with Baros, and bring in Riise at left midfield.

Later.

Oh yeah, and we drew as well
Yeah, was actually planning to wake up and watch the match last night, i mean this morning. Had my alarm clock set to blast at 4am, and had some Coke chilled in the fridge so that i could get some caffeine dosage to keep me awake during the game. Went to sleep, closed my eyes, and then the next thing i knew, it was bleeding 6am in the morning already. My body clock must be having a friggin hell of a laugh at me, since it decides to not wake up at four, but to nicely make me wake up so that i miss the game JUST IN TIME. Bloody hell! And the thing is, after that i just could not get myself to sleep again.

Anyway, it seems that we didn't play that well, (hence if i was indeed watching it, i would have REALLY needed the caffeine), and we could only manage a 1-1 draw with marseille, a team consisting of Premiership rejects Fabien "le Clown" Barthez, and Steve "Fulham record signing" Marlet. Good to see Baros on the score sheet again, which means he seems to be coming back to form, which is good, since that means more bench duty for Heskey. It was also good to read that we actually made Barthez work pretty hard in the second half as well, so that means we actually created some decent chances, but i guess i won't really know how well we played until i watch the replay sometime later this week.

By the way, there's this [football365.com] interesting article by John Nicholson in his column at Football365 which highlights why it is absolutely absurd to compare the great teams of the past (Liverpool circa 70's and 80's in his column) and the supposedly great team of now (Arsenal). I absolutely agree with him. The gist of his column just points out that the two teams are of a different era of football altogether, and the way that they play the game then, and now are almost absolutely different. But, there would always be people out there comparing anyway.

Thank god for weblogimages.com

Now that i have at last found a place i can save all my jpeg files online for free, (yes, yes, yes... i am an absolute cheapo, what to do), i can actually start putting up pictures of interest on my wee lil' blog i have here, like the one of Monica Bellucci on top there. Thanks weblogimages.com. Truly appreciated. Although they do have their banner add at the bottom of every image there, but still, good enough for now. Who knows? After I finish up their 10M of storage space they give for free, i might end up actually (*gasp!!*) paying for their services. But till that day comes, ill just have to bear with the free service that they provide. Cheers!

Arsenal and Real go through
What ManYoo couldn't do, the Arse did it with ease, with supposedly a convincing 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo. If you ask me, i would seriously think that the Arse would be hands down my favourites to go all the way and clinch the Champs' League throphy this year. The other hot favourite would probably be AC Milan, with Shevcenko in irresistable form lately. But I wont really be that much surprised if Arsenal suddenly get kicked out by some other team, like Deportivo or, Marseille for example, no that i am saying that they aren't any good or anything, it's just that, if Arsenal are on form, they would tear the living daylights out of these teams. However, Arsenal being Arsenal, they might just end up losing to them by conceding a goal in the last minute or something. I wouldn't be suprised.

Real on the other hand do NOT look comfortable at all. Without the Brazillian the Brazillian nuts, it took a moment of genius by none other than Zinedine Zidane to get them through to the next round. But that's just the thing with Real Madrid. They have the players who can just bring you one moment of brilliance that could win you the match. Like what Zidane did two or three years ago (i cant remember!) during the Champ's League final. His matching winning goal, volleying the ball from the edge of the area, is what i would define a moment of absolute skill and pure genius, and from that one act alone, he fully justified the gazzillions of dollars they spent on him.

Now, if only those rumours 3-4 year ago that Zidane was coming to Liverpool were through. *Sigh*

ManYoo crash out
Yeah yeah yeah... i know, i am a Liverpool supporter and what the hell am i doing broadcasting news about ANOTHER team's misery. Call me an "ABU", or call me whatever, but hey so what? The funny thing is, I have been getting this quotes from some, if not all, of my ManYoo supporting mates.

"Don't worry, there's always next year"

"The manager seems to have lost the plot"

"The manager's buys this season has been an absolute failure"

"I think it's time we had a new manager"

Now, those are the EXACT same lines, or sort of, that you would expect to hear from a Liverpool fan, like myself. But now, hearing it come out from the gazillions of ManYoo fans? Absolutely hilarious.

Covering your arse

I just do not understand how some people can work, and how they set their priorities! Some people I work with, I have come to realize just put so much emphasize on covering their hairy arse, it is just so darn unbelievable. My project team is currently working together with vendors from another company in this project, and you just CANNOT imagine how much effort is being put into covering their arses. Unbelievable.

Before we even commit to doing anything now, we would have an "internal" meeting and brainstorm ideas on how we can "CYA" in the future. Are all bases covered? What happens if this and that happens? Oh, we are covered there as well so we can point the finger to someone else? Have you sent a mail out to make sure there's a paper trail? So that it's documented somewhere for "proof" if needed in the future?

Oh my god?! Why can't people just trust each other to get on with the job and concentrate on more important matters, like actually delivering a quality deliverable for instance, or focusing our energies into finishing off the project faster, so that if we are done faster, the faster we can see tha back of those other people?!

Oh well, just have to accept that it's just the way that some people work. For me, i would like to think that if i just do my best and have faith and trust the people that i work with, it would all come good in the end. Is that a good way of doing work? Well, i think so. At least until it comes back and bites me in my "uncovered arse"!

I am 31.91% nerd!!

Ha! Ha! Ha! Checked this [mcphee.com] site out as the nerd test. Has some absolutely hilarious questions, such as

Is your IQ greater than your weight in the same ratio as your eyeglass prescription over pi? Did you actually try, even for just a moment, to calculate the answer to that question?

And i lost 25 points since i was using a Windows machine! WTF?!

Schumi wins again

Again... surprise surprise, Micheal Schumacher takes the pole position on the first race of the season, and then goes all the way and wins it! I lost interest in the race once Kimi's engine went bust not even half way through the race. Come to think of it, if they dont show some MAJOR improvement in the next race, i pretty much doubt they would be anywhere close to challenging for the F1 drivers and manufacturer's crown this year. I mean, judging by their performance during qualifiying, they were just absymal. I think Montoya must be thinking something in the lines of..

"What on EARTH was I leaving Williams to race in this pile of SHIT?!"

As you can see, I am a McLaren supporter, and this week, since Liverpool aren't playing, it just gives me another reason to rant.

Of course it's shocking!!
I mean, who wouldn't be? Were's Traore? Biscan? Diao? I mean, what on earth was Pele thinking when he came up with THIS [soccernet.com] list of players?!! Mad! Absolutely shocking!

This love has taken it's toll on me

Been listening to this song by Maroon 5 lately and feel it sounds pretty decent and catchy. Didn't really like the other song they had before, was it Harder to Breathe or something like that. I heard it the first time on MTV while i was flicking through the channels, and at first i thought to myself, "Oh no.. not another Maroon 5 song", but after a while, i found that i actually liked it.

I was so high I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye and she got on a plane
Never to return again
But always in my heart

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

I tried my best to feed her appetite
Keep her coming every night
So hard to keep her satisfied
Kept playing love like it was just a game
Pretending to feel the same
Then turn around and leave again

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

I'll fix these broken things
Repair your broken wings
And make sure everything's alright
My pressure on your hips
Sinking my fingertips
Into every inch of you
Cause I know that's what you want me to do

The spending spree continues..
Yeah, it seems the bottomless pit that is Abramovich's wallet is even more bottomless than what we thought it was. Latest addition to the Chelski revolution in the summer would be young, promising dutch winger Arjen Robben [football365.com], right under from the noses of the Scums. Ha ha.
We are through
Liverpool are through to the last sixteen of the UEFA CUP, courtesy of a 4-2 away win to Chelski... i mean Levski Sofia. Darn, should have stayed up to watch the match, although i did set my alarm clock to ring at 3:00am this morning, but i guess i was just too deep in deep sleep to be woken up by a puny alarm. Good job scoring 4 goals, however it does seem alarming that we seem pretty leaky at the back nowadays. We also seem to be relying on Gerrard a lot nowadays as well. Anyway, on to the next match. If we win our game in hand, we recapture fourth spot.

Parliment to be dissolved!!

According the the reports on thestar online, the parliment will be dissolved tomorrow. So, election times are here! Who will i vote for? That IS the question. Actually the other day, there were people from one of the political parties, going from door to door, who came over to my house in PJ and tried to persuade us to vote for them. Well, funny how when election time start, only then would we see these people. Hmm, which is good i guess, since some of the roads around my housing area does need to be re-tarred pretty badly.
Glenda doesn't come a second time
It seems that Glenda won't be back [soccernet.com] to good 'ol Southamption to replace the ginger one as numero uno of le' Saints. I think that's a pretty good move considering how he shoved a pole up the arse of all those loyal Southampton supporters a few years back. I fail to understand how their chairman could even come up with such a brilliant idea in the first place. Next thing you know, he'll be getting death threats from some idiotic dodgy bastard, somewhat like our "beloved" Houllier [soccernet.com].

use my pc

Haven't been writing much here lately. Been totally busy busy bee. Anyway, this webpage[usemycomputer.com] i found seems pretty cool and has some interesting stuff and some interesting pictures as well. Hot chick he uses there as his main pic.
