Bis-Cannot

Am in desperate need of some coffee now, since i have been robbed of my sleep by the freak of nature people refer to as Igor Biscan, who also it seems, plays "football" for my team Liverpool. Yes, we lost to Southampton last night and I put the blame totally on Biscan [-10/10]. Actually during the first half, he actually did almost convince me that he was a pretty decent defender (*gasp*), especially with that last minute, last ditch diving header right in front of the goal to deny Beattie a simple chance of heading the ball home. However, in the second half, his two mistakes which led to two goals just served as a reminder to me and all other Liverpool supporters why he is almost the definition of inept defending, almost since that accolade belongs to Djimi Traore.

Actually it was a pretty decent game. We created some good chances, and *most* of our players out there had a pretty decent game. Gerrard [7.5/10] was probably (again) our best player out there, and he and Hammann [7/10] had pretty much dominated the center of the pitch. Baros [6.5/10] looked pretty bright as well and had some neat touches and passes, although he didnt have any chances on goal. Kewell [7/10] also seems to be re-finding some sort of form and *if* only his 4th minute effort went in, I am sure we would have ended up winning the match, but as they say, that's football for you. Hyppia [6.5/10] also had a decent game in defence as with Carragher [6.5/10]

Now we go to the players that have dissappointed me last night. Other than Biscan [-100/10], Henchoz [5.5/10] had a night to forget. I just do not understand what on EARTH goes through the mind of our Houllier. I mean, Finnan is out, and Henchoz is pretty much doubtful, so what do you do? Give Riise [6.5/10 for the few minutes he was on... he looked pretty OK and wasn't really just hoofing the ball up was he?] a chance at left back and push Carragher at right back? Absolutely not. In the laws of Gerrard Houllier, you should put a center back who is slightly injured out onto the right back spot so that he is INDEED out of position, and then put a DONKEY at central defense. I mean, if he was indeed injured, I can't blame Houllier for putting Biscan in, since that would mean Traore would stay on the bench (which in any case is brilliant), but to keep Henchoz ON when you have a natural left back sitting there on your bench?! Use your brains goddammit!

I also just probably have lost any hope in Diouf [4/10] actually coming good anymore. He just brings absolutely nothing now to the team. All i see him doing is basically have a run on the wing, try and look fast and tricky with dodgy step-overs and what nots that dont come off, and then win the team a throw in or a corner. Right.. that's it! Run to the corner flag my boy and get us a throw in. That's ALL!?? I mean, I can't believe i am actually saying this, but when Heskey [6/10] came on for him, Heskey actually looked pretty useful (*gasp*) playing on the right hand side compared to Diouf. What is happening to this world?!!

Also, i do NOT want to see Owen [6/10] putting the ball on the penalty spot EVER AGAIN! He doesn't look comfortable taking them, he doesn't look confident. I think Owen has lost a LOT of his confidence this season and also his mind seems to be somewhere else probably thinking about his contract situation, since his mind was definitely NOT on the pitch. Seriously, I just cannot see anyone making a "bid we cannot refuse" anymore for Owen in the summer if he keeps on going like this. On the plus side, at least he had a few chances, but sad to say,he didnt manage to take any of them. I think Owen needs some time on the bench. As they say, no one is bigger than the club, and if Owen looks to be not performing, then bench him I say, and let someone else try up front. Heskey (*gasp*) maybe, or Diouf (*gasp*), or maybe LeTallec or Ponggolle when they come back from injury. Either that, or put Kewell up front with Baros, and bring in Riise at left midfield.

Later.
