Oh yeah, and we drew as well
Yeah, was actually planning to wake up and watch the match last night, i mean this morning. Had my alarm clock set to blast at 4am, and had some Coke chilled in the fridge so that i could get some caffeine dosage to keep me awake during the game. Went to sleep, closed my eyes, and then the next thing i knew, it was bleeding 6am in the morning already. My body clock must be having a friggin hell of a laugh at me, since it decides to not wake up at four, but to nicely make me wake up so that i miss the game JUST IN TIME. Bloody hell! And the thing is, after that i just could not get myself to sleep again.

Anyway, it seems that we didn't play that well, (hence if i was indeed watching it, i would have REALLY needed the caffeine), and we could only manage a 1-1 draw with marseille, a team consisting of Premiership rejects Fabien "le Clown" Barthez, and Steve "Fulham record signing" Marlet. Good to see Baros on the score sheet again, which means he seems to be coming back to form, which is good, since that means more bench duty for Heskey. It was also good to read that we actually made Barthez work pretty hard in the second half as well, so that means we actually created some decent chances, but i guess i won't really know how well we played until i watch the replay sometime later this week.

By the way, there's this [football365.com] interesting article by John Nicholson in his column at Football365 which highlights why it is absolutely absurd to compare the great teams of the past (Liverpool circa 70's and 80's in his column) and the supposedly great team of now (Arsenal). I absolutely agree with him. The gist of his column just points out that the two teams are of a different era of football altogether, and the way that they play the game then, and now are almost absolutely different. But, there would always be people out there comparing anyway.
