Comments on the new players

Yeah, pre-season friendlies aren't really a good way of judging how a player would really perform during the season, f*ck, i thought Cheryou was a quality signing from his pre-season form last time! But it does give you an early glimpse into what sort of players we have, so here we go.

Of course, i would HAVE start with..

Peter Crouch
Shit, he looks tall as hell. Awkward as well. Funny though, although i have been reading about it a lot, but you have to see it to believe it, that he DOES have a decent touch and CAN play on the ground. He did set up, well semi-set up, Garcia for the first goal against Olympiakos after a mazy run which looked, well, awkward. He had a good shot from outside the box and looked pretty much decent, if unspectacular for the whole first half, considering that he only joined us like 2 days before. All in all, looks OK, and, THANK GOD, we didnt resort to the "Lump it to Heskey" tactics.

Sissoko
OK, he seems to have the energy to run around, but it was more like a headless chicken if you asked me. Late challenges here and there. Heck, if he can get booked within 45 minutes of a half paced pre season friendly, I am dreading to see what would happen in a full blooded premiership match! Scary though, he does look like a Djimi Traore playing in midfield.

Bolo Zenden
OK, wasn't expecting him to light up games, but he did look pretty decent. He was one of Boro's better players last year and we did get him on a free, so a bit of pretty good business there if u ask me. Looks useful and can send in some pretty decent deliveries into the box as well. Now can only hope that Moro and Crouchie gets on the end of them.

Reina
Can't say much about him, since he hasn't really been tested in the games that he has played, but he does look a like a solid commanding keeper. He actually went out for some crosses and cleared / punched them out solidly. Looks promising, and i hope he does live up to his billing as a top quality keeper.

All in all, we look to have a pretty solid team already. Probably we would need another quality defender and that should be it, since we looked pretty vulnerable at the back against Olympiakos. I mean, we were quite lucky to get away with a LOT of offside decisions!

Anyway, here's to the start of the season!

Goodbye, and close the door on the way out please.

"How can i leave after this?" That was
supposedly what the fans wanted to hear after that absolutely magical night in Instabul. I, actually, was more looking forward to the headlines on soccernet saying "Gerrard signs contract extension".

Good bye stevie G. Thanks for the memories and all the best, but please close the door on your way OUT! This is such a major kick in the balls for us supporters, it's not funny. After ANOTHER year of constant "will he or wont he go" saga, this is where it has boiled down to. What else is the club to do? Offer you fecking 100 thousand quid a week to captain the team you supposedly supported ever since you were a small lil kiddo. Bring in one genius of a manager. Friggin WIN the bloody European Cup. And then publicly state (although we don't really know what is happening in the background, so we have to just take it at face value) that the manager and management want you to stay on until you retire? I am thinking that either he was always going to move away anyway (he was the one who stalled on contract talks to the end of the year), OR it is something that is being engineered by his agents, SFX. Imagine what sort of comission THEY would get for a 40 million quid move to Real Madrid!

At the end of the day, he can just go if he wants to. Imagine your club captain saying that he would only start considering the contract at the end of the year, IF there's improvement! In my opinion, he has just grown too big for his own shoes, and now has a major ego-induced chip on his shoulder thinking he is larger than the club.

So, Stevie G. If you don't think 100k quid a week, captaining the Champions of Europe (that you help become) who are also the team your were supporting since you were a kid (supposedly) is good enough for you, then by all means, FUCK OFF. I've had enough of this shit. Just go off soon so that we can start spending the 30-40 million quid we *should* be getting. Liverpool Football Club is bigger than one player and we would definitely get over *another* player leaving.

Am looking forward to a year of not worring about another player who will or will not go. At least until after ANOTHER fantastic season and a World Cup campaign, and Real Madrid will be sniffing around our next captain, step forward, Jamie Carragher.

Welcome BOLO!

So the rumours are true. We are getting Bolo Zenden. World Class player? Feck no. Good premiership player? Quite so. Better than Smicer / Diao / Cheryou? Bloody hayle yeah!! We have gotten ourselves a proven, quality premiership player, and to top it all, for FREE. Good bit of business there, if you ask me. It seems next week will be pretty exciting in the transfer market for us Reds. Reina seems to be on the way and to be confirmed next week, and the rumours about THAT bean-pole striker are resurfacing again. Looking forward to the coming week!

Just a quick note... It's been a while!

Yeah, it's been a while since i last posted in here. Around three months and all actually, ha ha ha. Actually I was writing somewhere else, just didn't feel like posting it all here. Don't ask why. Been absolutely friggin busy as hell as well. But i guess i'll be adding them in here and back dating the dates and all. Hope to constantly update this thing from now on.

Who the hell are we signing?

Ok, so while i wait here in the office for 830, when i'll be heading off to meet up with some mates for dinner, let me give a rant about the lack of, shall we say, action, by Liverpool to sign any players so far. I mean it's friggin end of June already, Rafa / Parry / whoever, and the Champs League qualifiers are just 2 weeks away. It seems Didi has signed a new deal, Biscan, sadly has been allowed to leave, as too Smicer. Milan Baros wants to leave, then wants to stay, then wants to leave and now wants to stay, after it seems rejecting Houllier and Lyon, and Valencia now prefering that fuckwit Kluivert instead. A few of the fringe players have also been given the boot, along with Ritchie Partridge, admittedly, one of my few favourite Championship Manager-ish players, who i was hoping would actually make the cut. Oh yeah, and it looks like Sicknote Kirkland could, no should, be on his way to the Baggies for a year now.

So, who are we buying, Rafa?

Well, it seems we are / should be getting Jose Reina from, suprise surprise, Spain. Seems like a quality keeper, who even Arsenal seemed interested in. Haven't actually seen a lot of him to pass any worthwhile mention, but if Rafa wants him, I guess he should be quality.

The more interesting, and juicy rumours would be on the striking department, where we have been linked to almost every single god damned striker there is. First, there was Raul, who, just the thought of him joining would be what wet dreams are made of. Imagine, Raul and Morientes. Linking up with each other. Banging in the goals. Like 'em 'ol days. Sadly, like fuck is that going to happen. Like fuck. Another player who has been strongly linked with us has been Dirk Kuyt, the so called Dutch Wayne Rooney. I just hope that its more of the footballing skill side of Rooney they are comparing to, rather than the fat arsed, over weight prick I would gladly put my foot into his face. Again, haven't seen, so can't comment, but his record in the Dutch league seems to be absolutely astonishing. But, then again, so was Mateja Kezman.

Then, it brings us to Peter Crouch. Gangly, beanpole, unorthodox, Peter Crouch. If you ask me, actually I would NOT mind if we were to get him for around 5 million pounds. He is tall, so must be good with headers, and amazingly, he is pretty decent on the ground as well. I did see him play a few times last year, including THAT game against Liverpool, and I must say, I was pretty impressed. He would definitely offer something different to the team other than the lighting speed of Ciise, and the Brains of Morientes, or the blind alley running of Baros.

But thats the thing as well. Striking options is definitely what we are desperately in need of. I mean, other than those three, we still have Ponggole who i think seems to be developing pretty well, and also Mellor, and there's even le Tallec and Garcia who can play "in the hole".

For me, if we were to get only ONE player this summer, it definitely has to be a winger cum creative attacking midfielder. Oh yeah, and dump that fucking Aussie back to Leeds, or where ever.

So, Rafa, who are we getting this summer? I can't wait.

Petrol Prices Going Up.... Again

Bloody hell. Rumours are it might go up anywhere between 5 sen to 15 sen per liter. I just got a call that it might even go up tomorrow. Last time this happened i didnt even know it was going up until I was passing by my friendly neighbourhood petrol station and saw the "mile-long" queue and thought to myself, what the fuck do these people know that i dont know? Luckily my tank was already full, or else, it would have been another one of those "monkey see, monkey do" actions happening there. Later.

UPDATE: Nope, prices DIDN'T go up, did they?

Sothinathan suspended

THIS I just don't understand. Just because you are under the party doesn't give you the right to question any of the parties actions? What the FUCK is that? So the party just wants non-thinking "Yes"-men among their ranks? I mean, just because you question something doesn't make it wrong. Anyone should be able to question anything! Then, you should "justify" your actions. What is happening to this world?

Stuck In a Jam

Bloody fucking hell. Was caught in the traffic for 1 bleeding hour today due to the IDB road closures. This sort of things make me absolutely furious. Bloody hell, I pay my friggin' road tax every year, and once some foreigner comes to town, people like me just get pushed to the side while they just fucking zoom through. Can someone PLEASE justify this to me? The spirit of Malaysian being polite and accomodating to guests? Well, they are not the ONLY people in need of getting to a fucking meeting on time. OUT.

Do we want Kezman?

Koptalk or as some people would refer to it as "craptalk" of usually one of my favourite places for Liverpool news. Like this particular one. Do I want Mateja "I can score shitloads in Holland but i cant hit a cow's arse with a banjo in Ingurland" Kezman playing for Liverpool next year? Fuck NO!

Get In There Yer Feckin Beauty!!!

Oh yes we did, oh yes we did. We absolutely spanked them back to Goodison Park, now didn't we? If only Baros, prior to that moment of temporary insanity, didn't leave his shooting boots at home, we would have been home and dry, four nil up, playing with 10 and half players on the field, and also prior to that having 3 people injured before half time. We opened a huge can of "whoop-ass" in the first 20 minutes or so and the Bluenoses just did NOT know what hit them. However, if I do have some nitpicking to do, I just have to add that in the second half, eventhough I do admit that we were under a LOT of pressure, we just kept inviting them back with all the hoofing the ball upfield, reminisence of the "Hoof it up to Heskey" days. I mean, that would have been a time for a more, erm, sensible approach, like, you know, keeping the ball, or putting your foot on the ball and slowing the pace of the game? I mean, if the bluenoses want to play "Hoof it up to Dunc" so be it (although I do admit everytime they did that, I almost had a few semi-heart attacks). Anyway, it was a smashing game, and a smashing result. Haven't woke up the neighbours in the wee hours of the morning like that since the Olympiakos game. The adrenaline rush to the brain once the final whistle was blown was totally out of this work. It was also brilliant to see the players celebrating at the end, although, as an Everton supporter sort of rightly pointed out to me, they were celebrating as if they had already won fourth place!! REALITY CHECK LADS. BETTER NOT FECK UP AT BOLTON else this would all be in vain. OK now, gonna go an watch my nails grow again. Later.

Quick Update

Dear all,

To whoever that might be concerned about the whereabouts of the Braindead Malaysian, (if there are any in the first place... ), we would like to inform you that he has been unavailable to update this blog as he is currently being treated for severe depression due to the current state of the Premier League team supported. He has been diagnosed to be unable to handle the non-stop emotional roller-coaster ride that has been dished out by the constant support of Liverpool Football club this season, from the joy and ecstacy of jumping in joy to wins over Leverkusen, Arsenal and Olympiakos and waking up the whole block in the process with his quasi-maniacal screams in the wee hours of the morning, to the act of choking the Chelsea supporters behind him at the Mamak stalls after receiving one to many smart arse jibes of "he has already scored his first goal for us even before he joins us" from them.

Other than that, he has also been constantly busy with work.

This is just not right

Surfed through slashdot and found THIS! Oh... My... Fucking... God! I think I am blind now! Warning. I would not take any responsibility for any traumatic experiences anyone might have after clicking on that page.

More "Great News" Coming

Now it seems Alonso might be out for the rest of the season. What f*ckin great news then. Also, been reading all these message boards and comments online of all these so called Liverpool supporters, who, just a few weeks back were comparing Rafa with the great Shankly, calling for his head, saying he is out of his depth and f*ck shit like that. All I can say is, what a bunch of idiotic morons. Paul Tomkins has this great article on redandwhitekop.com, which, I fully agree with. Give Rafa some time, and I hope the board would also give him some dough as well. Walk on.

Monday, January 24, 2005

Bloody hell now everyone seems to want to leave!

Well, if you read the news that is. Gerrard says, "Get me outta Anfield!". Papers say, "Baros is going to be sold!". What on earth is happening here? And the Baros news. It seems the price quoted is 10 million pounds! Yes, right. Ten feckin million pounds. For the European Championships golden boot winner? You must be f*cking joking! Seriously! Three games lost in a row. Dogged with injuries. And now all our best players are being linked with moves elsewhere? How bloody predictable. Typical sensationalism from the sports journalists there, if you ask me.

However, one news that does disturb me is the news that the Kraft family has pulled out of an investment bid. Now, what I hope happens here is that would mean there would come in for a takeover, as if they don't, we've buggered investment opportunities from Steve Morgan, the Thai PM (which I didn't really fancy anyway), and also the one from GMM Grammy (is that right?). We are in desperate need of some cash injection and I just don't see it coming from anywhere else, if you ask me.

Anyway, here's to the game against Watford. Hope our players turn up for the match this time. Later.

Been Away

Havent been accesible to an internet connection for quite a while now. So many things have happened in a month! The new years has come by and passed. The tsunami tragedy happened. The aid has been coming in. Malaysia losing to friggin Indonesia in the most mind numbingly idiotic way that just annihilated what ever glimmer of hope that was just starting to creep in up until then. Also, my project is finishing soon-ish, so i hope I'll be sent to someplace that i get proper internet access.

Liverpool wise, it just can't get that much sucki-er than this. Losing to the Bluenoses, losing to Chelsea and losing Alonso in the process thanks to that f*ckwit Lampard, losing to Manyoo thanks to Dude-k, losing to Burnley thanks to an exquisite piece of skill Zidane would have been proud of (at the OTHER end), and yesterday losing to frigging Southamption for goodness sakes with Pellegrino making himself look like an absolute f*cken idiot. What on bleeding earth is happening?

Shite. This is just too depressing. No wonder I haven't written much lately. Oh yeah. Morientes signed for us as well. Woo Hoo. Brilliant. Whatever. Come on lads! SORT IT OUT!
